UP TO 8 WEEKS FOR PRODUCTION
Absolutely. I’d keep this consistent with the other Freejump descriptions, but make the XC distinction immediately clear: this is essentially the Voronoï Carbon platform configured with a short visor for cross-country and eventing.
Freejump Voronoï Carbon XC Riding Helmet
The Freejump Voronoï Carbon XC brings the advanced protection and lightweight construction of the Voronoï Carbon into a design made specifically with cross-country riders in mind.
The XC version features a short visor for a more streamlined profile while maintaining the same combination of a carbon fiber outer shell, in-mold construction, energy-absorbing EPS foam, and optional removable temporal protection found in the Voronoï Carbon.
At Fair Hill Saddlery, we love seeing a helmet designed specifically for the demands of cross-country without sacrificing the comfort, ventilation, and modern safety features riders want for everyday use.
Advanced Multi-Layer Protection
The Voronoï Carbon XC uses several layers that work together to help manage impact forces.
The outer shell is constructed from carbon fiber, a lightweight, high-strength material known for its excellent impact resistance. Beneath the carbon shell, Freejump uses in-mold technology, with a polycarbonate layer molded directly over the EPS liner to create an additional protective barrier.
The EPS, or expanded polystyrene, is the energy-absorbing portion of the helmet. The combination of the carbon outer shell and in-mold construction allows Freejump to use a lower-density EPS foam designed to help absorb and distribute impact energy.
An integrated internal rib adds additional structural strength and crush resistance.
Optional Temporal Protection
One of the features that really sets the Voronoï Carbon XC apart is its removable temporal protection.
The temporal area, or the area around your temples, is one of the more vulnerable areas of the skull and is typically left with less coverage by a traditional riding helmet. Freejump designed its temporal protection to extend the helmet's physical coverage into this area while helping absorb and distribute impact forces over a larger surface.
The helmet can be worn with or without the temporal protection, and the pieces can be removed and reinstalled. For riders looking for the maximum coverage this helmet was designed to provide, we recommend choosing the version with temporal protection.
The temporal protection will also allow compatibility with the upcoming Freejump Intercom by Cardo.
Designed for Cross-Country
The biggest difference between the standard Voronoï Carbon and the Voronoï Carbon XC is the visor.
The XC is equipped with a short visor, giving riders a streamlined design particularly well suited for cross-country and eventing. It is a great option for riders who want less visor than a traditional show helmet but still prefer a helmet with a finished brim rather than a completely visor-free jockey skull design.
Lightweight and Comfortable
Despite its multi-layer construction and additional coverage, the Voronoï Carbon XC remains impressively lightweight.
The helmet weighs approximately 500g without the lower temporal protection and approximately 600g with the temporal protection installed, depending on helmet size and configuration.
Inside, the removable liner is made from high-quality Italian fabric designed to provide a comfortable, secure fit while helping with breathability and head support.
The liner can be removed and washed at 30°C/86°F and should be allowed to air dry, making it easy to keep your helmet fresh through training, competition, and those hot cross-country days.
Designed to Keep Air Moving
Good ventilation is especially important when you're galloping cross-country, and Freejump has incorporated airflow throughout the Voronoï design.
The helmet features front and rear exterior vents along with 20 ventilation openings in the internal shell to help move air through the helmet.
The distinctive geometric vent design is inspired by the Voronoï pattern found in nature. In addition to giving the helmet its recognizable modern appearance, the design allows Freejump to balance airflow, ventilation, and structural strength.
Inside, the liner and front ABS insert are also designed to help direct incoming air through the helmet for improved airflow and temperature regulation.
Customizable Style
The Voronoï Carbon XC offers plenty of options for riders who want to personalize their helmet. Depending on the available configuration, elements including the shell, in-molding, ear loops, vents, vent grilles, and visor can be customized.
The helmet is available with or without temporal protection, and the temporal pieces can be removed and reinstalled. They can also be added later if you initially purchase the helmet without them.
The Voronoï Carbon XC is available in three shell sizes: S, M, and L, with interchangeable interior liners providing sizes from 52cm through 62cm.
Available carbon finishes include:
Black Carbon • Blue Carbon • Full Black Carbon
Our Take at Fair Hill Saddlery
For eventers and cross-country riders, the Freejump Voronoï Carbon XC gives you the technology of the Voronoï Carbon in a configuration that makes a lot of sense for riding across the country.
We especially like the combination of the lightweight carbon shell, in-mold construction, energy-absorbing EPS, excellent ventilation, short XC visor, and optional extended temporal coverage. It's a premium option for riders who want a lightweight, streamlined helmet without giving up the additional coverage available with Freejump's temporal protection.
If you're comparing Freejump models, think of the Voronoï Carbon XC as the cross-country version of the Voronoï Carbon. The core helmet technology is very similar, with the short visor being the key feature that gives the XC its cross-country-focused design.
As with any riding helmet, proper fit is just as important as the technology inside it. If you're unsure about sizing or whether the Freejump shape is right for your head, contact us at Fair Hill Saddlery and we'll be happy to help you find the best fit.
