Freejump Voronoï XC Riding Helmet

The Freejump Voronoï XC brings Freejump's advanced helmet technology into a streamlined design made specifically with cross-country riders and eventers in mind.

The XC version features a short visor for a more streamlined profile while combining a high-quality thermoplastic outer shell, in-mold construction, energy-absorbing EPS foam, and optional removable temporal protection.

At Fair Hill Saddlery, we love seeing a helmet designed specifically for the demands of cross-country without sacrificing the comfort, ventilation, and modern safety features riders want for everyday use.

Advanced Multi-Layer Protection

The Voronoï XC uses several layers that work together to help manage impact forces.

The outer shell is constructed from a high-quality thermoplastic polymer designed for strength and impact resistance. Beneath it, Freejump uses in-mold technology, with a polycarbonate layer molded directly over the EPS liner to create an additional protective barrier.

The EPS, or expanded polystyrene, is the energy-absorbing portion of the helmet. Freejump uses a low-density EPS foam designed to help absorb and distribute impact energy.

An integrated internal rib adds additional structural strength and crush resistance.

Optional Temporal Protection

One of the features that really sets the Voronoï XC apart is its removable temporal protection.

The temporal area, or the area around your temples, is one of the more vulnerable areas of the skull and is typically left with less coverage by a traditional riding helmet. Freejump designed its temporal protection to extend the helmet's physical coverage into this area while helping absorb and distribute impact forces over a larger surface.

The helmet can be worn with or without the temporal protection, and the pieces can be removed and reinstalled. For riders looking for the maximum coverage this helmet was designed to provide, we recommend choosing the version with temporal protection.

Designed for Cross-Country

The short visor is what gives the Voronoï XC its cross-country-focused design.

It provides a more streamlined profile than a traditional long visor while still giving riders a finished brim. For eventers, we think it hits a nice middle ground between a traditional show helmet and a completely visor-free jockey skull.

The short visor also makes the Voronoï XC an especially appealing option for riders who want one helmet that can comfortably transition between everyday schooling and cross-country.

Lightweight and Comfortable

Despite its multi-layer construction and additional coverage, the Voronoï XC remains impressively lightweight.

The helmet weighs approximately 500g without the lower temporal protection and approximately 600g with the temporal protection installed, depending on helmet size and configuration.

Inside, the removable liner is made from high-quality Italian fabric designed to provide a comfortable, secure fit while helping with breathability and head support.

The liner can be removed and washed at 30°C/86°F and should be allowed to air dry, making it easy to keep your helmet fresh through regular riding, training, and competition.

Designed to Keep Air Moving

Good ventilation is especially important when you're galloping cross-country, and Freejump has incorporated airflow throughout the Voronoï design.

The helmet features front and rear exterior vents along with 20 ventilation openings in the internal shell to help move air through the helmet.

The distinctive geometric vent design is inspired by the Voronoï pattern found in nature. In addition to giving the helmet its recognizable modern appearance, the design allows Freejump to balance airflow, ventilation, and structural strength.

Inside, the liner and front ABS insert are also designed to help direct incoming air through the helmet for improved airflow and temperature regulation.

Sizes and Colors

The Freejump Voronoï XC is available in three shell sizes: S, M, and L, with interchangeable interior liners providing sizes from 52cm through 62cm.

The helmet is available in two classic finishes:

Black Gloss • Black Matte

Our Take at Fair Hill Saddlery

For eventers and cross-country riders, the Freejump Voronoï XC offers a great combination of modern protective technology, additional temporal coverage, ventilation, and a streamlined XC design.

We especially like the combination of the thermoplastic outer shell, in-mold construction, energy-absorbing EPS, short visor, and optional extended temporal coverage. It's a great option for riders who want many of the same design features found in the Voronoï Carbon XC at a different price point.

If you're comparing the Voronoï XC and Voronoï Carbon XC, the biggest difference is the outer shell material. The Voronoï XC uses a high-quality thermoplastic polymer shell, while the Voronoï Carbon XC steps up to a carbon fiber outer shell. Both share many of the same core design features, including the short XC visor and Freejump's approach to temporal protection.

As with any riding helmet, proper fit is just as important as the technology inside it. If you're unsure about sizing or whether the Freejump shape is right for your head, contact us at Fair Hill Saddlery and we'll be happy to help you find the best fit.

The VORONOÏ CARBON helmet is certified to the highest safety standards on the market, including the latest CE EN1384:2023 European standard (replacing the 2017 European standard and integrating the VG1 standard) as well as the ASTM F1163-23 American standard.

It has also been awarded 3 out of 5 stars by the independent Virginia Tech laboratory, renowned for its rigorous helmet testing. Find the link to the Virginia Tech Lab rating here.

These certifications confirm its exceptional level of safety, further enhanced by an innovative temple protection design— a key advantage that sets it apart from other helmets on the market.
